Exemplary Work

Exemplary Work

This essay for my 11th grade geometry class is a good example of exemplary work because I got a 9.5 on it. This essay was based on the topic "Was Math Created or Discovered?" When we were assigned this project, I knew that it was something I would enjoy doing because I've asked myself that question in the past. In my opinion, math was discovered, so my paper was based off of that. I did so much research on this project over spring break, and perfected it as much as I possibly could. I feel like my hard work was reflected through the grade I received.

Shows Growth

This letter I wrote was a letter to Mayor Bill de Blasio. It was a proposal to allow students in my school to have their phones in the building during school hours. The reason this letter shows growth is because I've never written a letter to a mayor, and I had to constantly revise it until it was perfect. When I did peer editing, I got a lot of critical feedback that I used to better this letter. Beyond showing growth, I'm also very proud of this piece of work because it can potentially make a change in the lives of many students at FMHS.

Something Awesomely Awesome
Although this project took two weeks to complete, and got stuck in the heads of every 11th grader, it was a fun project that also received a good grade. I chose this piece not only because I received a good grade, but it was the biggest group project I have ever done.

End of the Year Reflection
After 10 long months of learning, failing, and succeeding, I can proudly say that my 11th grade year has been an amazing one that I'll never forget. I struggled in many areas such as US History, but pushed myself to pass the class along with all my other ones.
